Baby Doctor Visit – All is well

Update on Sarah and the new baby.

Yesterday the entire family went to see our doctor for the last time . We were blessed to find a great doctor here in Panama but we know God will provide for us in Peru. The baby boy is doing well and the ultrasound showed that the development was on schedule and healthy. It was cool to watch as the doctor pointed out stomach, liver, thigh bone, head, etc..

It was fun to watch Benjamin try to puzzle out what was going on. He thought it was fun and said “cooool” a lot. Stephanie enjoyed each second and asked questions. She even told the doctor everything she new about the baby.

Sarah is also doing well. She actually lost weight since her last appointment but since the entire family was very sick last week we are not suprised.

Baby Names?

It would be great to type a name instead of typing “new baby” or “baby boy.” to be honest with the move and being sick time to discuss names has been limited. When we do have time to discuss names the list just gets longer… Sarah is almost to the halfway point (actually for Sarah probably past that point since she was a week to 10 days early with Stephanie and Benjamin)

New Dress

Stephanie has a new dress designed and made from scratch by Abasifreke, nigerian missionary to Jamaica. Last week I spent 5 days in Jamaica meeting with Rev Obot and his wife Abasifreke Ite. The Ite’s are a wonderful family and I am truly blessed to call them my friends and co-workers in God’s Kingdom.

Stephanie loves her new clothes!

Abasifreke is an awesome seamstress. She makes her clothes without patterns and very quickly. The dress Stephanie is wearing was made in less than a day. WOW what a blessing

Thank you Abasifreke and Obot. God’s blessings to both of you.. Stephanie loves the clothes!!

As we experience change in our lives, in Latin America, our Synod restructuring, and in just everyday life Jeremiah 29:11 reminds me of the promise God ultimately delivered for everyone on the Cross. I may not prosper in this life but I have hope and a future when I look to the cross knowing that my salvation is sure in Jesus’ sacrifice.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

May God give us all wisdom and strength as we deal with change and daily life. May his Word guide us to the saving knowledge of His forgiveness and salvation won for us on the cross.

Bruce, Sarah, Stephanie, Benjamin, and a new baby boy on the way!

In order to improve my Spanish and speak God’s word to those I serve I have started memorizing scripture in Spanish.

I will share the verse of the week with everyone in both Spanish and English. If you have never memorized scripture I encourage you to learn with me.

Starting with the 10 commandments. 1st commandment (taken from Luther’s Small Catechism Bilingual Concordia Publishing House 1998)

El Primer Mandamiento - No tengas otros dioses aparte de mi.

First Commandment - You shall have no other Gods

Boy or Girl?

Stephanie asked if she could join us at Sarahs scheduled doctors appointment and we agreed. Sarahs doctor has his own ultrasound machine that is connected to a HD television. Stephanie was able to hear the hear beat see legs and fingers. Then all of a sudden the doctore asked if we wanted to know the sex of the baby.. Well of coarse… (In the US this is a planned event, so we were a bit suprised)

Well to our suprise we were told we are having a …….

Ok Stephanie wanted to tell everyone so Watch the video to learn if we are having a boy or a girl
